Matt Bloomfield fought off competition from a host of EFL clubs to secure the signing of Saxon Earley on a loan deal from Plymouth Argyle for the rest of the season.

The left-back, 21, started his career with Norwich City after developing through the Canaries’ academy, and spent the first half of last season with Stevenage before signing a permanent deal with Plymouth, featuring nine times for the eventual League 1 title winners.

A team-mate of recent Chairboys recruit Matt Butcher, Saxon played twice for the Pilgrims at the start of the current campaign before picking up an injury, and now arrives at Adams Park to provide extra competition down the left.
