Martin O’Neill will be inducted as the Honorary President of Wycombe Wanderers Foundation at half-time during the club’s League 1 fixture against Leyton Orient at Adams Park on Tuesday evening.

The former Chairboys boss, who guided the club from non-league to the third tier and enjoyed three Wembley triumphs in four years in the early 90s, has accepted the invitation to become the first ever Honorary President of Wanderers’ charitable arm, who have served the local community with distinction for the last 15 years through the delivery of a wide range of programmes in health, inclusion, education, and sports participation.

Martin will be presented to the crowd alongside the Foundation’s CEO Mark Gaitskell and incoming Chair Cllr Arif Hussain as part of a presentation to celebrate Martin’s new role.

“We are thrilled that Martin has accepted our invitation to become the first ever Honorary President of the Foundation,” said Mark Gaitskell. “He is somebody who helped put Wycombe on the map with the club’s achievements in the early 1990s and played a massive part in giving the town and its community a football club to be proud of – something which remains true today.

“The Foundation strives to associate itself with everything that is great about Wycombe Wanderers, through its past and into the present and the future. We look forward to working with Martin to increase our profile and help Wycombe Wanderers engage with more and more people across the community.”
